Frequently Asked Questions
Find out more about our experience and approach to our clients’ projects. Creative Sources Architectural & Interior Photography shares our thoughts on these most frequently asked questions.
Do you use lighting?
Yes, of course! In fact, our use of lighting is one of the chief reasons our clients come back to us year after year to photograph their new projects. When everyone has a camera in their back pocket, our professional camera equipment and myriad lenses may not necessarily be perceived as a differentiator. What also sets us apart is our nuanced understanding of what creates effective imagery—all the pieces and parts that come together before the camera ever comes out of its case, includes:
- How light accentuates the materials and finishes our design clients selected.
- How the overall composition of an image and the source and quality of light used within it aligns with the space’s intended use. Whether the natural environs include warm or cool lighting, we are prepared.
Which is to say, yes, we’re passionate about lighting.
Do you like having the client on location during the shoot?
We’re asked this question often. We answer with a resounding “yes!” Having our client present prior to or during a photography session allows creative engagement and immediate first-hand feedback. The creative process is collaborative by its very nature; we encourage participation and input from our clients in every phase of our involvement. Should time allocation require, “remote scouts” these can be set up in real time. For clients that prefer the photo team to work independently, we are experienced in identifying perspectives which complement the project narrative.
How far do you travel?
Client projects have taken us to the vast majority of US states, also the Caribbean, Europe, and the African continent. Based in Atlanta, we have excellent access to the region and beyond.
Do you offer video and/or drone photography?
Do you provide more than Project Documentation?
Engaging architectural photography is far more than project documentation, it serves as visual proof of design excellence, helps institutions envision future possibilities, demonstrates recruiting and branding value, and creates an emotional connection that influences decision-makers. Strong photography can often be the difference between simply showing a project and successfully selling the vision behind it.
Will the photographs complement our design narrative?
Architectural photography is a vital tool for architects and interior designers to convey their design narratives. Dynamic and effective photography not only showcases the physical aspects of a project but also captures its essence, allowing designers to tell a compelling visual story. Through strategic composition, lighting, and perspective, we can highlight the unique features of a structure, evoke emotions, and communicate the intended user experience.
How will effective photography enhance our marketing efforts?
Dynamic architectural and interior photography of commercial interior spaces is one of the most effective marketing tools available to architects, interior designers, and general contractors. These images do far more than document completed projects—they communicate design quality, functionality, craftsmanship, and the overall experience of the space. For prospective clients evaluating firms for their next office, retail, hospitality, healthcare, higher education, or corporate project, professional photography provides compelling visual evidence of expertise and results.
Why do we need post-processing? What file types and sizes can I expect to receive?
Today’s RAW files are processed and blended to create impactful composite images. The tools and training we bring to the table allows us to produce effective photographs with more flexibility, speed, and ease. Image file sizes delivered to our clients range from large Tiff files for reproduction, to small jpeg files optimized for web use. Any files can be customized to meet technical requirements. We can also produce digital files for super graphics.
Will the images we receive be able to be used in award submissions?
We customize our photography solutions to align with our clients’ marketing narrative and marketing goals. Strong visual representations of projects are highly effective in garnering award recognition for our clients.
